Minemakers & India’s NMDC sign MoU for Wonarah

AUSTRALIAN COMPANY Minemakers Limited has signeda non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) withIndia’s state-owned NMDC Limited to establish “a pathway”for the development of the Wonarah phosphate deposit inAustralia’s Northern Territory, Minemakers said June 1.The Australian firm had confirmed in late May it hadheld confidential discussions with representatives of NMDCfor Wonarah and that those discussions were continuing(FW Online, May 20, 2011). On May 24, Minemakers alsoannounced that it and Australian-based based Verte GroupPty Ltd. had agreed to an early termination of their non-binding agreement concerning facilitation of pre-EPC andEPC Asian investment for the Wonarah project reached inJuly 2010 and which had been set to run until August 31,this year (FW Online, May 24, 2011). The terminationbecame effective immediately.
