摘要

We report the positive effect of fullerene as additives on thermal conductivity of hybrid fillers-based nanocomposites. The hybrid filler comprised of two and more traditional fillers has been an effective strategy to improve and develop high performance polymer composites. Normally, the thermal conductivity of pristine fullerene (C_(60))-based nanocomposite exhibits a decrease even at very low filler concentration. Here, an intensive study is proceeded to check the effect of fullerene as additional filler on thermal properties of nanocomposites. The nanocomposites consisting of epoxy matrix with graphite nanoplatelets (GNPs) and fullerene additives have been prepared as thermal greases by mechanical mixing. A series of thermal conductive GNPs/fullerene/epoxy nanocomposites have been produced with different filler concentrations as well as various ratios between GNPs and fullerene. Thermal conductivities of the composites exhibit positive enhancement, which suggest the addition of fullerene would decrease interface contact resistance and provide additional conductive paths to improve the thermal property of composites due to the motion of fullerene.
