摘要

Brightly colored and more transparent optical glasses in the general chemical composition of B_2O_3-BaO-LiF (abbreviated as BBLi) with certain transition metal ions (each in 1 mol percent) as the dopant ions have been prepared to investigate their optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra. We have measured absorption spectra of five transition metal (Cu~(2+), Mn~(2+), Co~(2+), Mn~(2+) and Cr~(3+)) ions doped glasses and while measuring the emission spectra, only for Co~(2+), Mn~(2+) and Cr~(3+) ions doped glasses have been obtained and therefore these spectral features are reported here with appropriate electronic transition assignments.
