PRODUCTION: Global Shrimp Review

Data on the recent and projected production of shrimp in major producing areas of the world are a central feature of the annual GOAL conferences organized by the Global Aquaculture Alliance. By polling top producers, GAA gains perspectives on industryissues as well as evolving production trends. The 2012. survey of production trends in shrimp farming polled 19 respondents from Asia/Oceania, 23 from Latin America and one from Africa. The data through 2010 correspond to official United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) statistics, while data for 2011 through 2014 are averages of the figures provided by the survey participants.
