Aurora's goal: 'Be big; act small'

A GROUP of 25 Platte River Valley farmers joined forces in 1908 to improve their marketplace by forming the Aurora Elevator Co. Today, 100 years later, the same principles of the founding members have helped Aurora sustain and grow as a progressive company. George Hohwieler, Aurora's current president and chief executive officer, attributed the company's success to the men and women over the past 100 years who decided they wanted a company that was unique and different and stood in the gapwhile providing goods and services to market grain.
