Temperature Effects Feeding Behavior Of Pacific White Shrimp

摘要

The authors evaluated the feed passage through the intestines of white shrimp under laboratory conditions. Also, feed consumption on feed trays was tested four times daily at different temperatures at an intensive culture farm. Results suggested thatshrimp consumed feed much faster when temperatures were above 32° C. However, feed trays may not be a useful feed management tool when temperature is above 31° C, because all feed is consumed even one hour after application.
