U.S. Antidumping Update: First Reviews Completed, Many Duties Fall

The first reviews of antidumping orders on shrimp imported to the United States resulted in many lowered duty rates. Some tariff reductions were dramatic, and "all others" rates declined for exporters in Brazil, India, and Thailand, Exporters that failed to cooperate and those that paid U.S. producers not to be reviewed will be subject to previous or higher duty levels. Richard Gutting has been actively involved in the regulation of seafood in the United States for over 30 years. He has experience with many governmental agencies, as well as a legal background in the seafood industry. A well-known author, Gutting recently completed A Practical Guide to the Regulation of Seafood in the United States, the first comprehensive regulatory guide for seafood buyers and sellers in the United States.
