Results from a series of trials indicated that in order to determine methionine and TSAA requirements for penaeid shrimp, methionine must be added to research feeds in either a chelated or covalently bound form. Since the studies used practical feed ingredients, they implied that commercial feeds using current requirement limitations are probably overformulated for methionine.
