McDonald's expects to raise prices

CITING growth in comparable restaurant sales, McDonald's Corp. has reported higher income and revenues for its first quarter but cautioned that food costs are accelerating and said the company needs to offset some of those costs with higher prices. McDonald's chief executive officer Jim Skinner said comparable sales were higher across all geographic regions and were up 4.2% worldwide, 2.9% in its U.S. division, 5.7% in its European region and 3.2% in its Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) region.
