DICK Bond, after carving himself a legacy in the meat industry and later taking the helm of the then-largest chicken company in the U.S., resigned suddenly last week as chief executive officer and president at Tyson Foods Inc. His resignation was effective immediately, and the company named board member and former CEO and president Leland Tollett to the two positions on an interim basis until a permanent successor to Bond is selected.
