DuPont, Monsanto upbeat

SPEAKING to investors last month, officials from agribusiness giants Monsanto and DuPont shared positive outlooks for 2010. DuPont executive vice president James C. Borel said he expects the DuPont Agriculture & Nutrition segment -- its Pioneer Hi-bred subsidiary -- to grow sales by 10% in 2010 and to increase pretax operating income margins across the seed, crop protection and nutrition and health businesses (Figure 1).
