A network of women in South Australia's Mallee region now have the knowledge and confidence to play a more influential role in on-farm decision-making, thanks to the initiative of a local agronomic adviser.Agrilink consultant Lou Flohr spends much ofher professional life consulting with the region's grain growers and in the majority of cases it is the males from family farm businesses with whom she deals.Yet, as Flohr recognised, it is the females who are often responsible for the farm finances andin many cases these women have limited knowledge of the day-to-day operations on their properties.
