U.S. studies find turkey meal could replace fishmeal in sunshine bass feed

The production of hybrid striped bass is one of the fastest-growing segments in U.S. aquaculture. Hybrid striped bass now rank fifth in volume and fourth in value of all food fish grown in the United States. The sunshine bass hybrid is more commonly cultured than other crosses due to the ease of obtaining suitable white bass females for spawning. The fish are hardier, grow faster, and have greater resistance to disease than their bass parent species, and can be farmed in earthen ponds, indoor recirculating tank systems, or cages.
