Structural change: European Seafood Suppliers Shifting as Aquaculture Grows

Small-scale suppliers have long dominated the European seafood industry, but larger integrated companies are playing a growing role. Major suppliers are deeveloping downstream distribution systems to improve pricing, volume, supply, and product range. Economies of scale for integrated farmed salmon production have supported huge growth. Other farmed species may piggyback on salmon's distribution infrastructure.
