Most cattle producers regard a cattle crush as an essential feature of any cattleyard, yet a poorly designed crush can make tasks such as eartagging dangerous and time-consuming. Kondinin Group evaluated six of the most popular crush brands for performance and safety. Intensive Kondinin Group tests of popular cattle crushes show most are reliable, easy to use and suitable for a 500-1000 head herd. But the tests showed there was room for improvement as faults such as poor animal safety and squeeze maintenance only become evident when the crushes have been used under farm conditions for some time.
