Kondinin Group engineer Tim Andrew previews the Goldacres range of self-propelled sprayers which have features found on trailed booms to increase their ease of use and effectiveness. This article identifies the best and worst features of the sprayersbut does not test performance. Goldacres has drawn on its experience with trailed units to develop a range of self-propelled sprayers for Australian conditions. Up to 50 per cent of the outer boom width is made of aluminium which, combined with the parallel lift and suspension, are claimed to improve boom tracking. Options include four-wheel direct drive, four-wheel-steering and the Raven direct injection system.
