Nursery pig abstracts focus on feed additives

IN presentations at the 2011 joint annual meeting of the American Society of Animal Science and American Dairy Science Assn. in New Orleans, La., research with nursery pigs focused on evaluating feed ingredients to improve early pig performance. In poster M224, M.R. Bible, S.D. Carter, H.J. Kim and T.M. Walraven of Oklahoma State University, C. Houchen of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, S. Anant of the University of Kansas Medical Center and R. Ramanujum of Swaath Inc. and ADNA Inc. looked at the effects of increasing levels of dietary turmeric on growth performance and immune response of nursery pigs.
