Southeast Iowa producer survives 'flood of 2008'

ON a Monday morning following a weekend of massive flooding, Nick Biggs took a boat to the water-filled offices of TriOak Foods in the southeast Iowa town of Oakville. Most of the office equipment had already been moved to the second floor, but he thought there might be something else to save. He heard a huge splash and looked out the office building's picture windows to see a whitetail deer swimming down Main St. After several days of moving people and their belongings as well as thousands of hogs to safety, it occurred to Biggs that the wildlife was having a tough time, too.
