摘要

Rainfall during July has lifted yield prospects but earlier frost and dry conditions mean four Australian canola growers will struggle to reach their yield targets. This is the second article in a four-part series focusing on how these producers manage one paddock. Heavy frosts and low rainfall have set back canola crops for the four farmers in Kondinin Group's comparison and each is now hoping for an outstanding spring to meet yield targets. The four farmers — Terry Guest, Salmon Gums, Western Australia; Vaughan Semler, Spalding, South Australia; Kevin Kilby, Gilgandra, New South Wales; and David Johnson, Hunter, Victoria, — are struggling against delayed crop development but a positive price outlook is boosting their confidence.
