Growers are urged to treat fields individually this season when filling in HGCA mycotoxin risk assessments, as experts at Cereals warned of a growing fusarium fear. Legal limits for the most common mycotoxins in grain intended for human consumption have been in place for several years and guidance limits have also been set for animal feed. These mycotoxin risk assessments are a required part of a Combinable Crops Passport. Conditions so far this season have not had a big impact on risk scores as thetwo biggest factors are rainfall during flowering and rainfall at harvest.
