Bonnar displays 'great fleshing ability'to win Beef Shorthorn title

Two hot days and a display of top quality livestock graced the Royal Norfolk Show last week, which saw numbers strong in most classes and interbreed judges having their work cut out in choosing their champions. Topping the line-up in the beef rings was the Beef Shorthorn champion from Nick and Andrew Barrett, King's Lynn, Norfolk. Fresh from his interbreed win at East of England Show, the April 2008-bom Glenariff Brave Bonnar looked every inch the champion and was praised by interbreed judge Jane Landers for being an excellent moving bull with great fleshing ability. Bonnar is by the homebred sire Glenariff Washington and is out of Glenariff Tulula-Gina. Taking the reserve interbreed spot was another bull, this time the male champion from the British Simmental classes, Clonagh World Class from PauU, Judy and Bridget Boriase's Sacombe herd at Watton at Stone, Hertfordshire.
