Spring demand may pressure nitrogen prices

Nitrogen fertiliser suppliers are expected to push for a price increase shortly. Traders are expecting a list price increase of about 5/t within the next week or so. UK manufactured nitrogen was available at 270-280/t delivered as Farmers Weekly wentto press on Wednesday (8 January), with this price range applying through to March. Competing with this, imported Lithuanian ammonium nitrate was costing 260-265/t for February delivery and granular urea was at 290-300/t, also for February.
