Shropshire forage harvester user gives his verdict on Deere's 8600

In last week's issue we looked at the performance of self-propelled foragers from NH and Krone. This time around, Nick Fone asked the owner of a one-year-old John Deere 8600 to rate his machine.Since they first made the move from a JF trailed forager to a self-propelled machine in 2006, the Swin-nertons have stuck with John Deere. Initially it was a 480hp 7300 but that was replaced by a higher-spec 560hp 7450 two years later.
