Where consumers have made a difference to standardization within national standardization bodies

Consumers influence the development of standards at the national level, and are doing so increasingly. We look at two national examples, those of Hungary and Japan, to see in what areas specifically they have made a difference. HUN GARY When people speak about consumer protection, they think first of all of the right to having safe products and/or services. And up in front of these preoccupations comes the safety of food products, a particularly burning issue, whose importance grows daily by leaps and bounds. Don't let's forget that in a very recent past, not a single year passed without one food scandal of another occurring.
