BRITISH pig producers could see the beginnings of a glittering future next year, with rising prices and production, while their European competitors battle against increased costs - but it all depends on which way the retailers go. That is the view ofUK pig chief Stewart Houston, who has predicted a 'structural shift' in the EU pig sector in 2004, on the back of significant feed price increases. "It's a complicated picture, which hoirls a great deal of potential for pig producers in the UK," said Mr Houston, who is chairman of both the British Pig Executive and the National Pig Association.
