SAI reports benefits for employers and workers from SA8000 workplace standard

Social Accountability International's voluntary human rights-based workplace standard, SA8000 has already been implemented by organizations in 21 countries. As ISO is currently looking into the possibility of developing standards for corporate social resonsibility, ISO Management Systems judged that the time was right for a closer look at SA8000 which was modelled on ISO 9000 and ISO 14000, although ISO did not participate in its development.
