The future of standards depends on consumer confidence. Without more resources and commitment to recognize this fact from all national standards bodies, the future is not bright. For many years, BSI (British Standards Institution) has put into practice the philosophy of full stakeholder participation, including consumers. As a result, relevant BSI standards have, for many years, played an important role in consumer protection. BSI aims for maximum influence for consumers from a relatively small investment of BSI's resources.
