Baldrige winners praise ISO 9000

In the March/April 1997 issue of ISO 9000+1SO 14000 News, we reported on what part, if any, ISO 9000 had played in the success of the winners of the 1996 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the most prestigious US award of its type. At that time, three out of the four winners replied and only one of these was implementing ISO 9000, although a second was rethinking its attitude. Now, the US monthly, Quality Systems Update, has done a similar report on the 1998 winners and found that two out of the three winners were ISO 9000-certified, while the third had a quality system conforming to ISO 9000' although it had not sought third-party certification.
