FLSmidth celebrates 125 years with a look into the future

Jorgen Huno Rasmussen, CEO of FLSmidth was the first speaker, and he suggested that guests don the 'galoshes of fortune' invented by another famous Dane, Hans Christian Anderson, to allow them time travel, back into the past of the company. Mr Rasmussen pointed out that FLSmidth has often innovated itself out of troubled times over its long history. He suggested that the future of the world will be increasingly global, virtual, urban and technological. His vision for the company is that it will grow the minerals side of the business, alongside its core business of cement, since the two sectors share a number of technological solutions. Indeed, at the conference FLSmidth buyout strategy for GL&V was announced, and we currently await the resolution of the deal.
