The performance of specially-impregnated alumina refractory bricks

The special impregnation of alumina bricks has greatly reduced the alkali attack of refractory linings and significantly increased their service life, as illustrated by numerous results from practical cement kiln operations. Therefore, firing using high quantities of alternative fuels is possible without impairing the refractory lifetime in the preheating and cooling sections. An unexpected feature of the impregnated RESISTAL bricks was the coating repellence that has been verified both in cement and lime kilns.
