The turnaround back to profit for Pakistan's cement industry is expected to be driven by an increase of 0.69 US dollars/bag in the Northern region during the quarter ending 30 June 2010. There have also recently been reports of prices in the south rising by 0.12-0.18 US dollars/bag to around 3.49 US dollars/bag. In addition, the 35% Inland Freight Subsidy scheme announced in the previous quarter is expected to enhance the bottom line for cement manufacturers over the course of the new fiscal year.
