No one worships in the church at Arena, ND any more; nor does anyone attend the local school.All of the houses are vacant and vehides are abandoned in tall grass under yellow-leafed cottonwood trees.It has been awhile since someone used a coat hanger to secure the door on the town hall.As a ghost town, one might perceive that Arena is a quiet place, but it is October, and there is a steady drone from harvesting machinery at work in fields surrounding the town. Arena has two side-by-side grain elevators, but farmers have not stored grain there in more than 20 years.
