With a location at the northern end of downtown Bayard, IA and residential homes within a village block, the crew at the Farmers Cooperative Company (FC) elevator (712-651-2081) was well aware of the need to be a good neighbor to other downtown businesses. That became a challenge for a while in 2006, after the cooperative built a pair of 400,000-bushel slipform concrete tanks as part of an elevator expansion.
