In 1992, Kevin Chinn and his father, Gary, decided to start making feed for their growing pork production business.Kevin says the first feed-manufacturing system was about as simple as it gets. "We basically had a 2-1/2 ton mixer on the back of a tractor," Kevin said. In 1993, the Chinns purchased their first 12-ton delivery truck. Shortly thereafter, they set up a more permanent mill on the hog farm with a 1,750-tpw capacity and the capability to produce one 3-ton batch at a time. Kevin says this operation worked well until recently.
