摘要

Primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) is a significant cause of blindness in Asia [1]. Assessment of angle width and its configuration is important for the prevention and treatment of PACG, because these features play a key role in the development of primary angle closure (PAC) and increased intraocular pressure (IOP).To date, a number of angle closure studies have been successfully conducted using ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) [2-6]. Pavlin et al. elucidated the mechanisms in PAC by using UBM images of pupillary block and plateau iris [2, 3]. Further, Sakuma et al. reported the topologic feature of appositional angle closure by using UBM [5]. However, a close-contact immersion technique is required for UBM, and this may potentially affect the structure of the anterior chamber angle.
