Efficacy of some chemicals and neem based products against bacterial blight of clusterbean

摘要

Two chemicals, streptocycline and copper oxychloride and two neem based products, nimbec-idine and neem leaf extract were tested for their efficacy against bacterial blight of clusterbean caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. Cyamop-sidis under field conditions. The chemicals were taken in different concentrations and combinations. The results showed that minimum disease intensity (15.0) was observed in nimbecidine @3 which gave the maximum grain yield 8.51 q/ha. This was followed by seed treatmentwith streptocycline + 3 sprays of streptocycline which showed the disease intensity of 17.6 and gave the yield 7.41 q/ha. The seed treatment with streptocycline + 2 sprays of streptocycline and treatment T2 (3 sprays of streptocycline @ 150 ppm) were atpar. The disease intensities were 22.0 and 22.5 and yield were 7.22 and 7.12 q/ha. In control the disease intensity was 48.3 and yield recorded was 3.52 q/ha.
