LOOKING back over the past year, we see that during 2005, the global market for agrochemical products in both crop and non-crop applications is estimated to have increased by 2.2% to reach US 36.195 billion dollar at the distributor level. As for theglobal crop protection market, the overall value is estimated to have reached US 31.31 billion dollar during 2005, showing a rise of 1.9% over 2004. Some of this increase is due to currency translation, as the US dollar continued to weaken on an averageannual basis against most of the major reporting currencies.
