Bimatech may he new to the sector, but its founders certainly are not. Bottero is an established long-time manufacturer of glass processing machinery. The group decided to invest in computer numeric control(CNC) work centers for edging, engraving and beveling by creating Bimatech, which would then complete Bottero's line of machines.Both Luciano Paci and Marco Tamburini have more than ten years of in-depth experience behind them. They were co-founders of Intermac, another Pesaro-based glass processing machinery firm that they left in 1997. In January 2000 Bottero contacted them with the proposal to create another company, which they accepted after the agreement they had made with Intermac not to engage in competitive activity had expired. Paci took on the role of managing director, Tamburini that of technical manager and Claudio Ciaffoni assumed the position of sales manager. According to Paci, Bimatech is more a continuation of its founders' past experiences than a project they have started from scratch.
