The Glaverbel group, which makes Stopsol solar control hard-coated glasses, has developed a chemical vapor deposition(CVD) process for a range of glasses called Sunergy. CVD involves applying on-line a thin, perfectly uniform coating of metal oxides to the glass, made possible due to the reaction of a very hot gas on the glass ribbon that forms a hard 'pyrolitic' coating when it comes into contact with the glass. Sunergy is designed to provide solar protection as well as good thermal insulation. It is suited to current architectural trends, which focus on a neutral look and low reflection.
