Grinding and Polishing

The SME 10 from Schiatti Angelo performs grinding and polishing of flat edges with arris, on glass with thicknesses of 3-20 mimmeters (mm). The machinable glass sheet sizes range from a minimum of 80 X 80 mm to an unlimited maximum size dimension. The SME 10 models come with a mitering system for obtaining an angle varying from 0 deg to 45 deg.The main conveyor is very accurate and durable. It runs on ball bearings and is adjusted to the various glass thicknesses by means of the electronic card. The glass is conveyed into the machine by a conveyor employing a polyurethane timing belt with a woven, stainless steel core. A device at the machine's entrance can increase the amount of glass removal up to a maximum of 4 mm, without changing the diamond wheel settings. The conveyor speed, controlled by a gear motor, varies in the range of 0.5-4.5 meters per minute.
