Contracting for the federal government can be a source of steady work and profit, but the government can be a picky customer. Faced with a burgeoning budget, a rough economy and two fluid wars abroad, President Obama has advocated greater oversight over contractors and subcontractors to eliminate fraud, waste and abuse.
