A BALANCED fertility program is essential for optimizing yields, increasing profits, and improving the efficiency of fertilizer applications. Without balanced nutrition, fertilizer nitrogen (N) applications become less efficient. In such cases, part of the investment in the fertilization program is wasted and the potential for nitrate leaching to groundwater often increases. A recent study conducted by Dr. Jay Johnson of The Ohio State University shows just how important balanced N and potassium (K)nutrition is for corn production.
