EU approves Nippon's bid to buy UK glassmaker Pilkington

Nippon Sheet Glass has won approval from the European Commission to buy the remaining 80% share stake it does not own in UK glassmaker Pilkington after the Commission concluded that the transaction would not impede effective competition.The Commission said that the proposed acquisition would not lead to a structural change in the European float glass market because of the geographical focus of each company.
