The markets for skylights and sunrooms equal the desire to bring more natural light into our living and working spaces. More sunlight seems to make things better. Studies of daylighting show that sunlight can improve health, happiness and productivity, validating what many people have suspected.Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, skylights are also higher in quality, more energy efficient and easier to install. Tom Martucci, product manager for Roto Frank of America, agreed that people are becoming more energy-conscious and are turning to skylights. A skylight not only reduces electric bills by taking advantage of the sun and eliminating the need to use artificial lights during he day, but also reduces the solar hear gain coefficient, visible transmittance and air leakage. Martucci said, "It's not like in the past where you would put in a skylight and the sun would really heat up the room underneath."
