It's not every day a commercial grower goes on television to represent the horticultural industry. And when it does happen, it's a big deal—and a big responsibility to represent the trade. The latest industry member to hit the airwaves is Lloyd Traven of Peace Tree Farm, who made his national television debut on "The Martha Stewart Show" last month. He was invited to talk about begonias, specifically the "exotic" or heirloom varieties, a crop in which he and his wife. Candy, have become experts. Lloyd was generous enough to invite me to be his guest on set, so I jumped at the chance to document the event.
