BP and Occidental Petroleum have completed what the UK major says is a “cross assignment” in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, setting up what appears to be a new exploration partnership in a proliOc producing area. A BP spokesperson conOrmed to Energy Intelligence that the two companies completed a transaction involving 16 leases in the US Gulf. Most are located in Mississippi Canyon (MC), one of the most highly developed areas of the Gulf.
