Bath vs. oral psoralen plus ultraviolet A: Is one more effective than the other?

Although psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) "was introduced more than 30 years ago as a highly effective treatment of psoriasis,1'2 there is a paucity of controlled studies. Indeed, it was not until recently that the efficacy of PUVA was confirmed in a placebo-controlled study using the PASI 75 (75% or more improvement of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) reduction rate as a new standard enabling better comparison with other antipsoriatic treatments.
