Focus on healthier food: World-wide platform covers the entire food supply chain, from feed to meat, in the Thai capital

VIV Asia 2007 will be held during 7-9 March 2007 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. The interest in VIV Asia has continued to grow, with more than 300 companies confirming their participation by the end of October 2006. Thailand is on course to engage successfully in the export of fresh chicken in 2007. Thailand's Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry has reiterated the country's stringent measures on bird flu prevention control and hopesto export, successfully, fresh chicken meat to the European Union (EU). The department of Livestock Development has notified the EU that Thailand has been effective in controlling the virus, and that accordingly no bird flu outbreak had been reported for over 200 days to the end of October 2006, longer than the 90 days standard set by the Office International des Epizootics.
