Ulsan—Uhde Inventa-Fischer said it has received an order from SK Chemicals Co. to build a plant for the production of poly-phenylene sulfide (PPS) in Ulsan, South Korea (PCN, 10 June 2013, p 4). Earlier this year, SK and Teijin Chemical agreed to establish a joint venture to develop, produce and distribute PPS resins and compounds. The venture, to be owned 66 by SK and 34 by Teijin, is expected to be formalized this month.
