Spraying for tomatoes

Aday neutral crop grown outdoors or under polythene and glass protection, tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) is susceptible to infection by many different fungal and bacterial pathogens, from germination through to harvest. Growers require fungicides that offer the broadest spectrum of activity including, if possible, control of bacterial pathogens. The fungicide product should have a very short safe harvest interval (ideally, a single day) to allow daily harvesting of fruit during spray schedules. Broad-spectrum fungicides used to spray tomato and control fungal disease include the dithiocarbamates (including mancozeb and metiram) and chlorothalonil.
